June 13: Bodies of the two victims are discovered after midnight. Simpson returns from a Chicago business trip and is questioned by police, then released.

June 17: Murder charges are filed against Simpson. He does not turn himself in as arranged, and police declare him a fugitive. He is spotted on freeway in a Ford Bronco driven by longtime friend Al Cowlings. Simpson is booked after long chase.

June 24: The Los Angeles County Grand Jury considering an indictment against Simpson is dismissed. Judge cites concern that jury may have been tainted by the extensive publicity.

June 30-July 8: Preliminary hearing held. After hearing, Simpson is bound over for trial.
