No surprises in Pollstar magazine’s tabulations of the top concerts for the first half of 1994: Barbra Streisand, Pink Floyd and the Eagles dominated the scene, with Streisand’s two Las Vegas New Year’s shows (top ticket price: $1,000) leading the way with a gross of more than $13.5 million. Those three acts accounted for all of the top 14 dates of the year so far and 41 of the top 50. Pollstar editors predict that with the Rolling Stones, Woodstock II and “Lollapalooza ‘94” still to come, 1994’s U.S. concert business will be the top touring year ever. . . .

Van Morrison took an active interest in a tribute album to him--he produced it himself, along with Irish instrumentalist Phil Coulter. Titled “No Prima Donna,” the collection, due Aug. 23, features Morrison songs performed by, among others, Sinead O’Connor, Elvis Costello, Lisa Stansfield, Marianne Faithfull, Hothouse Flowers and Morrison’s daughter, Shana. Oscar-nominated actor Liam Neeson also makes an appearance on the recitation “Coney Island.” . . .

R&B; vocal group Jade has a new album, “Mind, Body and Song,” due in Sept. . . . The Rock the Vote campaign is back with an album of songs by 18 unsigned bands from across the U.S. “Propaganda--the New Voice in Alternative Music,” is due Sept. 6. . . .

The latest project from the production team behind Beck’s “Mellow Gold” album, the debut album by L.A. band Wool, is due in late August. Bongload Records owners Tom Rothrock and Rob Schnapf produced the album, “Box Set,” but it’s being released by major London Records.*
