Pasadena Vendors Want City to Cover Losses

Share

Pasadena city officials will begin settlement talks today with angry vendors at a Pasadena-backed soccer festival who are demanding that the city cover their losses from the monthlong event that has drawn small crowds and produced few sales.

Called Soccer Carnaval, the festival in Brookside Park near the Rose Bowl was supposed to combine soccer activities, crafts, entertainment, food and carnival rides. It was launched as a joint venture of the city and Pasadena Productions, a private company.

David Jacobs, interim general manager of the Rose Bowl, told vendors Tuesday that they would be able to individually discuss with city attorneys any settlements they think they are due.
