WORLD CUP USA ’94 / THE FINALS : Spotlight : A TIP OF THE CAP

Share

From coast to coast, the cops have been great during this World Cup. In Foxboro, Mass., they stood on the field and saluted the flags of the competing countries while their anthems played.

In the Meadowlands, the New Jersey State police never abandoned their long-sleeved blue woolen shirts, despite the oppressive heat, nor did they ever turn away from their crowd-watching to sneak a peek at the field. Nor did the cops in Orlando waver from their crowd-watching duties, but in the wild evenings at Church Street Station, they were good sports until the wee hours, smiling at attempts to steal their OPD (Orlando Police Department) caps.
