PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Left Tackle a Sore Spot Without Rookie
With rookie Wayne Gandy still unsigned, Coach Chuck Knox might be looking for volunteers at left tackle.
Gandy is projected as the starter there, a key position because the tackle will protect oft-injured quarterback Chris Miller’s blind side. Gandy’s quick development is a must if he’s going to start, and it appears he could be a contract holdout during at least part of training camp.
Possible replacement candidates are guards Leo Goeas and Jeff Pahukoa, who have both played some tackle, and free-agent acquisitions Clarence Jones and Bill Schultz.
