TOUGH CALL: Dave Wynalda has mixed feelings about Sunday’s World Cup final. On the one hand, Wynalda, who owns Soccer Kick, a soccer specialty store in Westlake Village, would like to see Brazil win. His son, Eric, played for the U.S. team that lost to Brazil. But then again, business is business. . . . “Italian fans support their team big-time with purchases,” he said.

BRAGGING RIGHTS: The Pellegrinis of Calabasas, however, are divided in an entirely different way. Ronaldo will root for his native Italy, while his wife, Mercedes, will cheer for her beloved Brazil (B1). . . . Still, the Pellegrinis can’t take their rivalry too seriously. “We’re too financially entwined; we couldn’t afford it,” Ronaldo said.

OTHER YOUNT: His kid brother, Robin, will make it to the Hall of Fame, but ex-Taft High star Larry Yount (above) never made it to first base--or home plate. He got into one game in the majors, but had elbow trouble during warm-ups, and that was that. Game, set, career (C16). . . . Today, he’s president of a triple-A team in Phoenix.

CHRISTIAN CONCERT: It won’t rival Barbra Streisand or the Three Tenors as the summer’s other major musical event, but, as far as Christian music goes, it’s a pretty big deal. It’s Summer Praise ‘94, Aug. 11-14 at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank (B13). . . . In all, more than 50 artists and musical groups will perform, including Carman, who was twice named Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year.

ALREADY GONE: Jupiter may go through big changes tonight, but things on Earth stay the same. According to Louise Luman, a secretary at CSUN’s physics and astronomy department, an irate women called to complain about the fact that people will have to wait in line to use the school’s telescope to see the effects of the comet crash, which will last all week. “But what if I miss it?” the caller asked.
