The Los Angeles Unified School District has added five days to its calendar in order to make up the time that campuses were closed after the Jan. 17 earthquake.

The school board voted unanimously on Monday to revise the 1994-95 school calendar so that the last day of class will be June 29 or July 1, depending on the schedule of each school.

Federal funding will pay the estimated $56.3 million in added costs.

The five days make up for the week that schools were closed for inspection after the Northridge earthquake.
