HUNTINGTON BEACH : Golden West Names New Vice President
Marjorie Lewis, dean of educational support services at Long Beach City College, has been named vice president of instruction at Golden West College effective Aug. 8.
The Coast Community College District Board of Trustees, which governs Golden West, appointed Lewis at its July 13 meeting.
Lewis, who lives in Los Alamitos, will succeed Tom Hermstad, who served as the community college’s acting vice president of instruction for the past year. Hermstad will return to his job as the dean of physical education and athletics.
Lewis, 47, earned her doctorate degree in higher education from Claremont Graduate School. She is the author of the developmental English textbook, “Essential English: Solving Common Writing Problems.”
