Bandit Flees S&L;, Possibly in a Wig
HUNTINGTON BEACH —
A robber who may have been wearing a blond wig escaped from Downey Savings and Loan with an unknown amount of cash Friday.
The robber told the teller he had a gun and instructed him to put money in the nylon bag he placed on the counter, Huntington Beach Police Lt. Jeff Cope said. The robber never displayed a gun, and no one was injured.
Police describe the robber as white, in his 30s, about 5-feet-9 and 150 pounds. Cope said he may have been wearing a blond wig with matching beard and mustache.
