Bryan Twins Reach Tennis Final
Twins Mike Bryan and Bob Bryan of Camarillo advanced to the doubles final Saturday at the U.S. Tennis Assn. Boys’ 16 National Clay Court Championships in Nashville, Tenn.
The second-seeded Bryans defeated third-seeded Joseph Gilbert and Kevin Kim of Fullerton, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, and will face fourth-seeded Alex Kim of Potomac, Md. and Nick Crowell of Amarillo, Tex., in today’s final at Belle Meade Country Club.
In singles semifinals, second-seeded Kim defeated fourth-seeded Mike Bryan, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.

Bobby Rodriguez of Sherman Oaks defeated Al Martinez of Hidden Hills, 6-4, 7-6, in the semifinals of the Los Angeles Open pre-qualifying tournament at the Racquet Centre in Studio City. Unseeded Rodriguez will face top-seeded Otis Smith of Los Angeles in today’s final.
In doubles semifinals, second-seeded Brett Hansen and Peter Jeschke of Montecito defeated Rafael Huerta of Sherman Oaks and Jason DeVera of Villa Park, 7-6, 6-3.
Soccer
The Conejo Valley Rockers have advanced to the final of the under-13 boys soccer tournament at the Rose Bowl, and will compete today against a team from Sydney, Australia. The Rockers are 5-1 in the tournament and have posted five shutouts.
Swimming
Kristine Quance of Granada Hills, competing for the Trojan Swim Club, and Jennifer Parmenter of Santa Clarita each recorded second-place finishes at the Janet Evans Invitational at USC.
Quance, 19, who holds the meet record of 2:30.10, finished the 200-meter breaststroke in 2:32.78. Parmenter, 13, swam the 400 individual medley in 4:55.94.
