MONTEREY--Artisans and actors join forces for the Monterey Bay Arts and Crafts Faire, July 30-31. In conjunction with the closing weekend of Theatrefest ‘94, the fair is 9 a.m.-6 p.m. in Custom House Plaza, between Fisherman’s Wharf and the Doubletree Inn. SAN CLEMENTE--The Village Arts and Crafts Fair and Farmers Market is held July 31 in the 100 and 200 blocks of Avenida del Mar. Works by more than 90 artisans are featured 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and growers gather with their produce, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Free. (714) 361-0735.


SAN JOSE--A musical feast awaits at the fifth annual San Jose Jazz Festival, Aug. 4-7. Most performances are noon-8 p.m. Aug. 6-7 in Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park, downtown. PASO ROBLES--Celebrate the attributes of a favorite herb at the third annual Basil Festival, 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Aug. 6 at Sycamore Farms.
