Skeletal Remains Found Near Forest
Human skeletal remains were discovered Tuesday in a rural area near Angeles National Forest, almost a mile south of Aliso Canyon Road in Acton, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
A passerby found the bones and contacted sheriff’s deputies, Deputy Rich Erickson said.
Homicide investigators were sent to the scene, but the sex, identity and cause of death were not immediately known, he said.
He said the coroner’s staff will be called in to help determine how long the remains had been at the location, the cause of death and the identity of the dead person.
