THOUSAND OAKS : Rodent Shuts Down Power for 1,200
A rodent, presumed to be a rat, caused a two-hour power outage in Thousand Oaks early Friday morning.
A Southern California Edison spokeswoman said the rodent was probably exploring a transformer when it jammed the system and caused an overload, which shut down part of the power system. About 1,200 customers on Thousand Oaks Boulevard were without power from 1:44 until 3:33 a.m.
