YOUNG AND RESTLESS: Neil Young says he won’t tour to promote his upcoming “Sleeps With Angels” album because it would be seen as exploiting the tragedies--including Cobain’s suicide--that provide some of the songs’ subject matter. Pearl Jam scrapped its national tour plans after being unable to find a practical way to keep ticket prices under $20.
But the two acts are now talking about teaming up for a limited series of concerts in the Northwest.
Representatives of Young and Pearl Jam confirm that tentative plans are being made for shows to be held in fields and other alternative venues with low ticket prices--a nod to Pearl Jam’s well-publicized battle with Ticketmaster.
The shows would be designed also to showcase alternative bands from local music scenes.
