FULLERTON : Public Input Sought on General Plan
Public comments are being sought on a current draft of the General Plan, the document that guides the city’s growth and development.
The plan was drafted after more than three years of study, analysis and public discussion, city officials said.
Copies of the draft and an accompanying environmental impact report are available for review at City Hall and at the Fullerton Public Library.
Recommended goals addressed in the documents include:
* A 10% increase in commercial land use citywide.
* A 5% increase in industrial land use.
* About 6,000 new housing units.
* Creation of new policies to encourage more evening and pedestrian activities in the downtown area.
* Improvement of 23 intersections to handle a projected increase in traffic.
Residents have until Sept. 11 to review and make comments on the document.
In addition, a public hearing on the draft is scheduled for a Planning Commission meeting Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. For more information, call Ken Bane, an associate planner, at (714) 738-6561.
