Oppenheimer’s Jessica Reif Moving to Merrill Lynch

Wall Street securities analyst Jessica Reif joins Merrill Lynch as first vice president in the media equities research group, where she will follow cable, broadcasting and entertainment. Reif, who moves over from Oppenheimer & Co., succeeds Peter Falco, who retired. Longtime Merrill Lynch first vice president Harold Vogel continues to follow the Hollywood studios.

Buena Vista Television has named Mort Marcus as president.

Marcus, who formerly served as senior vice president of sales, will oversee BVT’s programming, sales and marketing efforts as well as Buena Vista TV Advertising Sales.

W. Timothy Wallace has joined S.G. Warburg as vice president and equity analyst covering the media and entertainment industry. Previously Wallace was at Lehman Bros. His move was reported incorrectly in a previous Executive Suite.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. has appointed Anne H. Corley vice president of corporate communications. She formerly was director of corporate communications at Fox Inc.

HBO Independent Productions has entered into a multifaceted business relationship with Stu Smiley, a former HBO vice president and Fox senior vice president of creative development. He will explore new business ventures for the production company.

Peter Preis has been promoted to vice president of sales at MTM Television Distribution.

Fred Chandler has been named vice president of feature post-production at 20th Century Fox.

Rita Hollingsworth has been promoted to vice president of entertainment and operations at Lee Solters Co., and Courtney Barnes has been named senior account executive of the black music division.

Connie Stevens’ Shane Productions has appointed Richard Gordon executive director of operations, overseeing operations and development of Stevens’ various divisions and personnel.

At Fox Broadcasting Co., George Oswald was promoted to senior vice president of creative services and Doug Binzak was named senior vice president of scheduling and marketing strategy.

Entertainment lawyer Andrew J. Kramer is now associated with the Century City law firm of Surpin, Mayersohn & Edelstone, where he will specialize in motion pictures and TV.

Elizabeth Fields has been promoted to director of marketing and licensing worldwide for Warner Bros. Consumer Products.

Jodi Levinson has been appointed director of business affairs for Warner Bros. Pictures. Levinson was previously with Paramount Pictures, where she was a senior attorney for the Motion Picture Group.
