Re the “Boz Scaggs: Rock Takes a Snooze” review by Dennis Hunt (Aug. 8):

I had waited a long time to see Scaggs in concert. On Aug. 7, my wait ended. That voice that I have heard over the radio, on tapes, records and, yes, even ages ago on “The Midnight Special” has only gotten richer. The materials that Scaggs chose to perform, beginning with the title track of his new release “Some Change” to his encore pieces, “Lido” and “Dinah Flo,” were great. The ballads that he chose to sing touched me the way that they do when I listen to them at home. His band and backup singers were exceptional. These were the songs that I had longed to hear live. I was not disappointed.

The evening, at least for me, was a wonderful evening spent listening to a class act, not an aging rocker with a “Peter Pan” complex. Welcome back, Boz. Next time don’t stay away so long.
