Delighted by Dana

Thank you for Susan King’s lovely retrospective of the stars from the recent past (TV Times, July 31).

I’m 74 and these people were so much a part of my growing up--that is why I really appreciated the thoughtfulness of you remembering them. Especially Dana Andrews. While volunteering at the Democratic headquarters in the San Fernando Valley, I remember one afternoon answering phones. He called in for some information and we had a lovely conversation.

Thank you again for giving recognition to a group of people sometimes underrated and forgotten.
