PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Report: St. Louis Official at Game
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported Thursday night that St. Louis beer distributor Jerry Clinton, whose minority ownership in the city’s stadium lease has stalled negotiations with the Rams, was at the Rams-San Diego game to meet with Ram President John Shaw.
As he watched the report in the owner’s box at Jack Murphy Stadium, Shaw said: “That’s news to me.”
Shaw was expecting Carolina Panther owner Jerry Richardson as a guest in the owner’s box Thursday night.
Mortensen’s report focused on plans by the Baltimore ownership group, led by Oriole owner Peter Angelos, to renew attempts to lure the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay owner Hugh Culverhouse died Thursday of lung cancer.
