OUTLOOK

Milhizer, in his second season, sees his team as a two-edged sword. While he believes his offense is strong in the skilled positions, he fears the offensive line could be hampered by inexperience. Milhizer’s sights are on league and Southern Section championships. And with second-team all-league quarterback Berg, first-teamer Yoo at tailback and free safety, and second-team wide receiver McIntosh leading the way, Milhizer’s goals might be attainable. In addition, the Highlanders are counting on six returning starters and 10 returning lettermen to keep things rolling. Milhizer said there also seems to be a lot of motivation going on between his players. Yoo has told him that he wants to be the most inspirational player on the team. “Not MVP, but inspirational,” Milhizer said. The Highlanders expect tough competition from Sonora and Troy, “but don’t count out Sunny Hills,” Milhizer said. “You can’t discount the three (Southern Section) championships under (Coach) Tim Devaney.”
