‘Outlaw’ Country

Share

Showing that being politically incorrect can sell records, country singer Tim McGraw, whose hit single “Indian Outlaw” angered Native Americans, has ridden the PI wave to stardom. Hands down, he’s country’s big new star of ’94. His album, “Not a Moment Too Soon,” which features the single, tops both The Times’ Southern California country chart and the national country chart. But the album is more than a country hit: On the national pop chart for 23 weeks, it’s been a fixture in the Top 20 and has sold more than 2 million copies.
