SANTA ANA : Schools’ Weapons Hot Line Stays Open
Officials for the Santa Ana Unified School District are reminding students and parents that its weapons hot line remains open for the 1994-95 school year, which begins Thursday.
The hot line number for reporting students carrying weapons is (800) NO-2-GUNS.
Stickers bearing the number are on public telephones at the district’s middle and high schools, and signs are posted in school offices. Notices regarding the hot line have also been sent to parents, district spokeswoman Diane Thomas said.
Callers may remain anonymous. The phone is answered by district employees during the day, and calls at night are recorded and checked at 7 a.m. daily, she said.
