SANTA ANA : More Than a Three-Ring Circus Act

Share

Hula-Hoop twirling may be long past as a national craze, but for Andrea Tabares it’s a way of life, as she demonstrated Wednesday by spinning more than five of them at the same time.

About 90 delighted children from Jackson Elementary School gaped as the circus performer gyrated and spun the colored plastic hoops during a performance at the Discovery Museum.

The show was an exhibition by Circus Vargas, which is playing at the Anaheim Indoor Marketplace through Sunday, museum spokeswoman Linda Edwards said.

Tabares is one of dozens of performers who display their talents at the Marketplace, at Anaheim Boulevard and Cerritos Avenue, Edwards said.

Shows are at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. through Friday and 12:30, 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Sunday shows are at 12:30, 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. Seats for children range from $4 to $14.50. For adults, prices are $8.50 to $18.50.
