OUTLOOK

The linebackers are the strength of the team. Nevadomsky was an all-conference selection and Garza, a team captain, led the Hornets in tackles last season. Shoup, a defensive back, had 41 solo tackles. Malbrue will start at tailback and O’Brien at quarterback. O’Brien led Valencia High to a 14-0 record and a Southern Section championship in 1991. Merriweather, a defensive back last season, starts at tight end. The Hornets started 3-2 but lost their last five games, all in the division, last season.
