LOS ALAMITOS : City Personnel Panel Appointments Made

Share

Charles Landon and Donald Sherrin have been reappointed to four-year terms on the Personnel Appeals Commission, a five-member board that hears appeals of employees who have been fired, suspended, demoted or disciplined. And the City Council last week also appointed Betty Schmicker-Black to the panel.

Landon and Sherrin are both incumbents, their terms having expired Aug. 31. Along with Schmicker-Black, they will now serve until August, 1998.

The other members of the commission are Viki Howard and Tom Rothwell, whose terms will expire in 1996.

The council last week also appointed Kathie L. Matsuyama to fill a vacancy in the Parks and Recreation Commission. She will serve until Dec. 31, 1996.

Landon, 39, human resources manager at Arrowhead Water in Monterey Park, has been a Los Alamitos resident for the past seven years.

Schmicker-Black, 42, works at Cal State Long Beach’s Career Development Center. She moved to Los Alamitos with her family this year.

“I was looking for an opportunity to get involved,” Schmicker-Black said. “This was the best fit for my experience.”
