Countrywide and Its Dress for Success Policy

Share

The boss makes $3 million a year and is fond of cute and expensive clothes (“From Peak in ‘93, Countrywide Comes Uneasily Back to Earth,” Sept. 11).

Many of his employees make $10 an hour, and he expects them to dress like Anne Klein or Beau Brummell.

Maybe the boss should loosen his tie a little.

I am sure the 1,440 people that were laid off were really impressed with the results of the mandatory policy of dress for success. (Pomposity over substance.)
