FRANKFURT : Old Fair, New Media

Share

The 46th Frankfurt Bookfair opens today with special emphasis on the world of multimedia and on Brazilian literature.

The new media--electronic books, CD-ROM and videos--made their debut at Frankfurt, the world’s largest book fair, last year and will account for about 220 of the 8,600 exhibits this week.

However, fair Director Peter Weidhass hastens to say that “with all the euphoria around the new media, the book will not lose its importance.” Scheduled is a “Meeting With Culture” segment from Brazil, with 60 Brazilian authors leading discussions.
