Company Town : Disney Marketing Executive to Wear Senior VP Ears

Film marketing executive Robert B. Levin is moving over to senior vice president of corporate marketing and communications at Walt Disney Co.

Levin has been president of Buena Vista Pictures Marketing, overseeing worldwide marketing of motion pictures released by Walt Disney, Touchstone and Hollywood pictures, and also for Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” production on Broadway.

Dick Cook, Buena Vista’s distribution chief, is expected to also assume responsibility for marketing, sources say.

Twentieth Century Fox named Alex Gartner senior vice president for its new mainstream film production division, headed by producer Laura Ziskin.

Also named as vice presidents of production were Sandy Isaac and Leslie Morgan, both of whom worked at Ziskin’s production company before she was hired by Fox.

Separately, Fox named production executive Christopher Meledandri president of its new family films division.

Longtime music publicist Paula Batson has resigned her position as senior vice president of public relations and special production development at MCA Music Entertainment Group.

Sony Pictures Entertainment said Burt Berman has been hired as executive vice president of music for Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Cos.

James L. English was named president of Playboy networks worldwide.

Kathryn Cohen has been promoted to general manager of Prime Ticket Network.

FX Networks appointed Carol Sussman director of programming.
