SMALL FACES: With only football to keep him busy now that baseball’s on strike, dual-sport star Deion Sanders is doing some rapping, teaming with Hammer for “Straight to the Feet,” a track from the soundtrack to the upcoming Jean-Claude Van Damme action film “Street Fighter.” Van Damme will join the two to shoot a video soon. Among others contributing new tracks to the album, due from Priority Records on Dec. 6, are Ice Cube, Public Enemy, LL Cool J and the Pharcyde. The movie will be in theaters Dec. 23. . . .

Los Lobos is doing a song and the instrumental score for “El Mariachi II,” a film by Robert Rodriguez, and is finishing up work on a children’s album. Meanwhile, the band has started to write for a new “regular” group album, with recording set to begin around New Year’s. . . .

English soul-dance group Massive Attack’s second album, “Protection,” is due Jan. 24. Nicolette is the act’s new lead singer, with Shara Nelson having moved on to a solo career. Everything but the Girl’s Tracey Thorn also guests on two tracks, while reggae veteran Horace Randy sings a version of the Doors’ “Light My Fire.” . . .

Collective Soul is working on its second album, due in March, and has a new song, “Gel,” set for the soundtrack to the Jerky Boys’ upcoming film debut, due in February. . . . John Hiatt will begin recording a new album in November, using the Guilty Dogs, the same hard-edged band that accompanied him on the road recently and is heard on the live album, “Hiatt Comes Alive at Budokan?” due next month. . . .

Don Was is set to produce the third album by the Highwaymen--the country supergroup consisting of Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson. They’ll start recording in December. . . .

The long-awaited follow-up to rap group Black Sheep’s 1991 hit debut album is finally set for mid-November. . . . The latest curve on the Internet features discount coupons for the recent Van Morrison tribute album, which users can download, print and redeem at Tower Records stores. A documentary on Texas psychedelic-rock cult hero Roky Erikson will be released on home video on Halloween. “Demon Angel: A Day and Night With Roky Erikson” was taped by Mike Alvarez in Austin and features Erikson performing acoustic versions of songs, including his old 13th Floor Elevators hit “You’re Gonna Miss Me.” It also includes interviews with relatives and associates. . . .

Enya’s next new album has been pushed back to early next year, but the singer is remastering an old album, “The Celts,” which will be repackaged for release sometime this year, possibly with a new song added. . . .

Erotic poems of Erica Jong have been set to music for an upcoming album by techno artist Vanessa Daou, with Jong herself making a spoken-word appearance on one track. . . . Timbuk 3 (of “The Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades” fame) has a new album due in January from Windham Hill’s High Street label.
