DINNER WITH LINDA: Paul McCartney has sold more than 100 million records as part of the Beatles, Wings and as a solo artist. Now his wife, Linda, has also sold that amount . . . of frozen vegetarian dinners. Yes, her line of meatless meals (recently introduced in the United States) is now the biggest-selling of its kind in Great Britain.

For some reason, the company that markets them decided we’d need some physical comparisons to understand how many dinners that really is. Figuring on three veggie sausages per dinner, a press release tells us, those 100 million dinners would, laid end to end, stretch from London to Australia and back.

Still can’t see it? OK--stacked on top of each other they would be as high as 431 Mt. Everests. Not good enough? Trucks carrying 100 million meals would stretch 12 miles.

Wonder how many McDonald’s you could build from them?
