Ignore the Snooze Bar on Biological Clock

Share

Identifying with Denise Hamilton (“When Your Biological Clock Is on ‘Snooze,’ ” Sept. 21), I would suggest that if the clock is on snooze, let well enough alone and don’t let anyone make you feel guilty (for choosing not to have children).

My husband and I were a young couple working diligently at our jobs. We chose a lifestyle that would allow us our much-deserved vacations and weekends off and the freedom to travel and to take part in the myriad of activities that life has to offer in Southern California and beyond.

This is not to imply that we lived only for ourselves. We entertained often, creating pleasant times for our friends and relatives. We also endeavored to be neighborly and helpful to others and to contribute to worthy causes.

This has proved the right lifestyle for us, and after 40 years of marriage we do not regret our choice. Considering the serious overpopulation of the Earth, we don’t feel we did our species a disservice.
