OJAI : Donation Increases Hours at 3 Libraries

Share

Ventura County officials Tuesday welcomed a donation of more than $11,000 from the Ojai Valley Friends of the Library to extend the hours of operation at three area branches.

The approval of the donation included an agreement with the city of Ojai that spells out the terms of a city contribution of more than $25,000 to keep the libraries open longer than the county could otherwise afford.

“These funds will allow the Oak View, Meiners Oak and Ojai libraries to be open a few more hours a week,” county Library Services Agency Director Dixie Adeniran told supervisors Tuesday.

Under the agreement, the Ojai library will be open 40 hours a week, while the two smaller branches will increase their hours from 16 to 19 each week through June, 1995.
