UC Irvine associate art professor Pat Ward Williams was awarded a $20,000 unrestricted fellowship and Pacific Symphony received a $5,000 1-to-1 matching grant in the year’s final round National Endowment for the Arts grants. The orchestra’s grant will support its commission of Elliot Goldenthal’s symphonic-choral work commemorating the Vietnam War. The two subsidies were among 334 fourth-quarter NEA grants awarded nationwide for a total of $6.6 million.
