SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Event to Raise Funds for Community Center

Community groups are throwing a hoedown and barbecue to raise funds for the city’s planned community center.
The event is from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Descanso Park and is being organized, in part, by the Seniors Club, the Boys and Girls Club of Capistrano Valley and other local leaders.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.
Money raised will go toward completion of a planned 32,000-square-foot community center, with a gymnasium, a senior center, kitchen facilities, a multipurpose room and meeting rooms.
