Vatican Establishes Official Ties With PLO

VATICAN CITY — The Vatican established official ties Tuesday with the PLO, strengthening its claim to a voice in the peace process and on Jerusalem’s future.
An agreement calls for a Palestine Liberation Organization office at the Holy See. The papal envoy in Tunisia will be responsible for PLO contacts. The move falls short of full diplomatic relations.
