HUNTINGTON BEACH

Vans Available for Medical, Market Trips

Senior citizens who need transportation won’t be without wheels.

The city and Pacifica Hospital provide a van service for senior citizens who need a ride to see their doctors or pharmacists. They can also use the van to go to the market or visit the city’s senior center.

Rides to social activities and other nonessential services will not be provided.

The transportation program for those 55 years or older was initiated after the county began phasing out its Dial-A-Ride program.

Pacifica Hospital is providing a van and a driver and the city is coordinating the scheduling and pickup times. This new service is offered from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. People who want to use the service should make arrangements at least a week ahead. For more information: (714) 960-2478.
