ENCINO : Chamber to Honor 8 Public Employees

Share

The Encino Chamber of Commerce will hold its second annual Community Service Awards luncheon Nov. 10 to thank eight individuals--from police officers to letter carriers--who perform often thankless jobs.

“Their dedication and commitment is what makes this a great place to live and work,” said chamber President Steve Getzoff. “We want to take a few minutes to honor them for everything they give us.”

Among the honorees at this year’s ceremony will be Frank Bush of the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.

“We usually don’t do building and safety, but this gentleman went above and beyond the call of duty after the (Northridge) earthquake,” said Jan Sobel, chamber executive director.

Others to be recognized at the luncheon are: Officer Sandy Cline and Detective Craig Rhudy of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys Division, Officer John Futrell and Senior Lead Officer Victor Monroe of the LAPD’s West Valley Division, engineer Patrick Leddy and Firefighter/Lead Paramedic Dennis Archie of the Los Angeles Fire Department, and letter carrier Linda McGaha of the U. S. Postal Service.

The public is welcome at the luncheon, to be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Braemar Country Club, 4001 Reseda Blvd., Tarzana. The cost is $15 for chamber members and $18 for non-members.
