CAMARILLO : Rack Covers for Sex Publications OKd
Seeking to restrict minors from being exposed to sexually oriented publications in convenience stores, the Camarillo City Council has approved an ordinance that would require covers over the racks holding the publications.
The proposed ordinance would also require that the racks be kept out of reach of minors in the stores. The ordinance was unanimously approved by the council at its meeting Wednesday.
The council approved a similar ordinance last month but on Wednesday chose to support an even stronger version, requiring the racks to be placed out of the reach of minors.
If approved on a second reading by the council at its Nov. 16 meeting, the ordinance would take effect 90 days later.
