Newport Beach : Holiday Boat Parade Participants Sought
The Newport Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce has issued a call for participants in the annual Christmas boat parade, an 86-year tradition that entertains residents and brings visitors to the city.
“Boats as small as 12 feet in length, kayaks and multimillion-dollar yachts decorated with holiday lights, some with animated Christmas scenes, others with music and costumed carolers, are all welcomed to the parade,” said parade chairman Bob Black.
The parade is put on nightly from Dec. 17 to 23.
An entry fee of $50 per vessel is due with applications, which are available at 1470 Jamboree Road. To request an application by mail, call the chamber at (714) 729-4400.
