Fullerton Man Dead After Crash; 2nd Man Injured
A 20-year-old Fullerton man died after a car went out of control and crashed into a pole near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Lampson Avenue in Stanton, authorities said Sunday.
A second man in the car was injured.
Jae Kim was pronounced dead at UCI Medical Center in Orange after the crash at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, said Brian Mitchell, a spokesman for the Orange County coroner’s office. The other man, who was not identified, was also taken to the medical center.
The two victims were traveling south on Beach Boulevard when their 1993 Honda left the road and struck a telephone pole, Sheriff’s Department Lt. Bill Leonard said.
It was not clear which man was driving, Leonard said. The crash left both pinned inside the car.
“There was no indication if alcohol was involved or if they were wearing seat belts or why the car went out of control,” Leonard said. The investigation is continuing, he said.
