Man Thrown From Hood of Truck
A man who climbed onto the hood of another driver’s truck during a traffic altercation was critically injured Wednesday when he was thrown from the truck and landed headfirst on a freeway on-ramp, authorities said.
Neil Little, 22, of Canyon Country, was driving his mini-truck on Sand Canyon Road in Santa Clarita when he got into a shouting match with the driver of another mini-truck just before 8 p.m., said Sgt. Rick Doan of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Witnesses told deputies that the two mini-trucks pulled onto the Sand Canyon on-ramp to the southbound Antelope Valley Freeway and Little got out of his truck and jumped onto the second truck that then sped off, throwing Little to the pavement, Doan said.
“We don’t know if Little is the suspect or victim in this accident,” said Doan.
Little was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia, where he was listed in critical condition, Doan said.
The investigation will continue, he said. Detectives were searching for a lowered red mini-truck with chrome wheels, he said.
