FILLMORE : Man, 52, Accused of Molesting Girl in ’78
A 52-year-old Fillmore man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sexually molesting a girl 16 years ago when she was 8, authorities said.
James Ronnie Slay was taken into custody by Ventura County sheriff’s deputies at his home, Sgt. John Fitzgerald said.
Fitzgerald said the investigation was sparked by the accusations of the 24-year-old woman, who alleged that she and others were sexually molested by Slay in 1978 and 1979.
Slay was booked into Ventura County Jail on suspicion of 10 counts of lewd and lascivious acts against minors, jail officials said. He was being held late Thursday in lieu of $20,000 bail.
