Crash Victim Is Identified
LANCASTER —
An 18-year-old man who died in a car accident after traveling at speeds of up to 80 m.p.h. was identified by the coroner’s office Friday as Phillip Miller of Lancaster.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s investigators said Miller was attempting to pass a car about noon Thursday while driving south on Sierra Highway near Avenue D, just outside Lancaster.
Miller collided head-on with a truck, authorities said. He was thrown from his car and died at the scene.
