Two men suspected of shooting at a group of Simi Valley youths were in custody Thursday at Ventura County Jail, authorities said.

Mauricio Donoso, 19, and Cory Pohlmeier, 20, both of Simi Valley, were arrested earlier this week, Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Layhew said.

A third suspect was arrested, but was released after questioning, Layhew said. Investigators believe a fourth man was involved in the incident but have not identified him, he said.

No one was injured in the shooting, which occurred at 3:28 a.m. Sunday, Layhew said.

Herman Mathis Smith, 18, of Simi Valley was sitting in a car in the 1800 block of Charing Court with two juveniles from Simi Valley when the suspects walked up to the vehicle, authorities said.

Donoso allegedly pulled a handgun and fired at the youths in the car, police said. The window shattered, but no one was hurt, Layhew said.

Pohlmeier hurled a bottle at the car as the suspects fled on foot, police said.
