The Pacoima Youth Culture Center received a $10,000 grant this week to create a computer learning center.
The funds came from the United Parcel Service Foundation, the charity branch of the packaging and delivery service. The youth center, established in 1977, provides comprehensive social services to the communities of the northeast San Fernando Valley.
The computer learning center will feature a jobs databank, an information referral network and computer training courses.
The grant is part of a nationwide program begun by UPS in 1984, which reported giving last year a total of $2.5 million to community organizations for education, human welfare, adult literacy and food distribution.
