From Associated Press

With Charles Barkley once again out of the lineup, Danny Manning scored 10 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Phoenix Suns past the New Jersey Nets, 115-110, Sunday night at Phoenix.

Barkley, who played his first game of the season Saturday night and scored 23 points in 33 minutes, pulled himself out of the starting lineup because of soreness in his abdomen.

Kenny Anderson’s layup capped a 31-12 run and gave New Jersey a 102-101 lead with four minutes remaining. But Manning scored five of the Suns’ next seven points as Phoenix took a 108-104 lead with 2:51 to play.

Dan Majerle and Wesley Person each scored 26 points for Phoenix, but neither scored in the final quarter.

Derrick Coleman scored 30 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead New Jersey, which lost for the seventh time in nine road games.

Detroit 106, Golden State 91--The Pistons blew a 21-point lead in the third quarter at Auburn Hills, Mich., but outscored the Warriors, 32-13, in the fourth quarter to extend Golden State’s losing streak to four.

After shooting just 36% in the first half, Golden State made 69% of its shots in the third quarter. The streak ended as quickly as it started, however, as the Warriors missed seven of 10 free throws in the first 5:30 of the fourth quarter and fell behind, 88-83.

Detroit went on its own 24-5 run and led, 98-83, with about four minutes to play. Grant Hill and Joe Dumars each scored 21 points to lead the Pistons.

Utah 94, Sacramento 89--Karl Malone scored 25 points, including four free throws in the final 3:34 at Sacramento to help the Jazz win their fourth consecutive game.

Mitch Richmond scored 25 for the Kings, who led throughout the game until Bryon Russell’s three-point basket with 7:54 left in the fourth quarter.

Portland 99, Indiana 89--Clyde Drexler, who had only six points after three quarters, scored nine points in the fourth quarter at Portland to help the Trail Blazers snap the Pacers’ four-game winning streak.

The Pacers, who had 23 turnovers, attempted a team record low of 59 field goals. It was the fewest number of shots by a Portland opponent.
