We Need More Teachers Like Sheila Hopper
Because teacher Sheila Hopper is attempting to force the L.A. Unified School District to comply with federal guidelines on the administration of special-education classes, the entrenched bureaucrats at LAUSD branded her as a malcontent and attacked her character (“Jury Says Principal Retaliated,” Nov. 17).
I still cannot believe the story of the fifth-grade student who could not even spell her own name yet was enrolled in a regular class! What is going on at the L.A. Unified School District?
Hooray for Sheila Hopper! There should be more teachers like her.
