George Fernandez and Dan Barber have been named to the U.S. team that will compete in the second Intercontinental Indoor Soccer Tournament Dec. 14-17 in Pachuca, Mexico.
Fernandez, coach of the Splash and formerly an all-star defender in the Major Soccer League and the National Professional Soccer League, will join 14 Continental Indoor Soccer League players on the team.
Barber, a Pacifica High graduate, played last year for the CISL champion Las Vegas Dustdevils, and will be joined by three other teammates as part of the select team, to be called the Las Vegas Dustdevils in the event.
Other countries participating are Brazil, Mexico, Portugal, El Salvador, Argentina, Iran and Switzerland.
