Two armed robberies, at a grocery store and a bank, occurred just 10 minutes apart Wednesday evening in Thousand Oaks, authorities said.
The first robbery occurred at 5:55 p.m. at the Vons market on Avenida de los Arboles, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said. A man carrying what appeared to be a toy gun took an unknown amount of money from the pharmacy counter, Sgt. Ray Nagel said.
The second robbery was at 6:05 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Bank branch at 140 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. Two men displayed handguns and fled with an undisclosed amount of money, Nagel said.
Police apprehended a suspect in the grocery store robbery late Wednesday. Both robberies were still under investigation.
