A man perched on his balcony fired about 100 rounds of ammunition at officers, cars and pedestrians before police shot and killed him Wednesday.

By the end of the shootout, cars and pavement were riddled with bullets--one patrol car was hit 34 times--but no bystanders or officers were injured, police spokeswoman Stephanie Norris said.

Police said they found an arsenal in the shooter’s apartment, including rifles, shotguns and pistols.
